We also recommend discussing your weight loss goals with your GP, as they can provide valuable input into your care.

What happens at your first consultation

Your first appointment is with a bariatric surgeon, not a salesperson. In the consultation you can expect to:

Discuss your weight history, your goals and any previous weight loss attempts.
Review your medical history and any conditions related to your weight, such as type 2 diabetes, sleep apnoea or joint problems.
Talk through the full range of options, surgical and non-surgical, and which are suitable for you.
Understand the costs involved and what your private health insurance covers.
Ask every question you have. Nothing is off the table.

If you decide to go ahead, we will arrange your comprehensive evaluation, including blood tests and consultations with our Specialist Physician, bariatric dietitian and psychologist. Nothing is booked until you are ready.
