The Two Balloons Have Different Costs Because They Work Differently
The Allurion Balloon is swallowed as a capsule during a 20 minute appointment. It needs no surgery, no endoscopy and no anaesthetic. The balloon sits in your stomach for approximately 16 weeks, then empties and passes naturally. The 12 month intragastric balloon, also called a gastric balloon or stomach balloon, is placed and removed under a light anaesthetic as a day procedure in a private hospital. It stays in place for six months, after which it must be removed. It can help patients lose 10 to 20kg. Results vary between individuals.
