Clinical Nurse Specialists ( About LSA )

Our Clinical Nurse Specialists each have over 20 years nursing experience and are available to take any calls regarding health issues related to your surgery, recovery and ongoing care.

We encourage patients to call if they have any concerns at all, as many problems can be resolved over the phone or an appointment can be arranged for review.

Cheryl Hansen

Cheryl joined our Group in Nov 2005 having come from a long standing nursing position at Knox Private Hospital. Her role has grown within the group to include all aspects of patient care and facilitating the clinical management of our rapidly growing Practice. She is involved in establishing off site consulting facilities and providing education and clinical support to new hospital sites and patient support groups. Of recent times she has become our Clinical Nurse Consultant caring for our patients' having the Orbera® Intragastric Balloon.  Cheryl is an associate member of OSSANZ as well as a contributing member to our Baker IDI research studies.

Ruth Bertuch

Ruth is also our Research Nurse and as LapSurgery Australia has a strong commitment to Research and ongoing Improvement her role includes organizing and coordinating our research projects. She is available to provide information and explanations to Patients involved in any of our studies.  Ruth is also an associate member of OSSANZ and assists in holiday leave for Cheryl for patient care and clinical management.
